Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
One of the business lines that we are strongly betting on in the last years, is the WEEE (Waste of Electric and Electronic Equipment) Recycling, which needs a different treatment than traditional scraps.
Authorized Plants
To manage this specific waste, Derichebourg Spain uses specific media: specific containers for the different kind of WEEE treated that can be located at client’s premises, authorized vehicles for the collection and transport to plant (accompanied by the compulsory DCS, control and tracking document), a network of authorized plants for temporal stocking and treatment, and a specific plant for the treatment of industrial and domestic refrigerators (where a Destruction Certificate can be issued).
This modern WEEE recycling plant is located in Madrid and works this way: the refrigerators are first decontaminated (dangerous liquids are extracted) and then are taken into a close-atmosphere grinder where it is broken to small parts and the dangerous refrigerating gases from the foams are extracted.

We are recognized in this plant with the WEEELABEX Certificate that certifies that our refrigerator recycling plant meet the conformance requirements of normative standards.
Derichebourg Spain closely works with all the actors in the WEEE Recycling System: Public Institutions, associations, SIGs, distribution chains or appliances shops, to whom we provide a high quality service. We manage not only the domestic appliances but also the WEEE generated at the industrial channel.
Our objective is to achieve the higher recycling percentage to contribute to the sustainability of Environment, transforming the waste from WEEE into the raw materials of the future.
